Prof. Dr. Klaus Buchner is Munich’s only MEP and is a big critic of the planned free trade agreements CETA/TTIP/TiSA at the European Parliament.
He is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Subcommittees on Human Rights and on Security and Defence. He is also a substitute member of the Committee on International Trade and a full member of the Delegation for Relations with Iran.
Prof. Klaus Buchner, MEP, has in the past worked at the Max Planck Institute of Physics in Munich, in Kyoto/Japan, in Chandigarh/India and at the Technical University of Munich. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences in Sicily and of the Golden Order of Merit of the University of Breslau/Poland. For seven years, Prof. Buchner was the Federal Chair of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP), and he was elected to the European Parliament in 2014 as a member of that party. He is married and has four children.
